KONY 2012 has recently sparked up more controversy within our social medias.
Since I got rid of facebook, the effect of it has only occured on youtube.
What annoys me the most is the irgnorance on the issue at hand. Uneducated comments claiming that the sympathetic are the naive and the proactive are the lazy had managed to distract all emotional pain from the story and turn this into some synics wet dream.
The thing that annoys me the most is this: “Kony’s army was made 22 years ago, he’s dissapeared for 5 years so why bother find him? These people are trying to brainwash you”
Okay…
1. If a guy raped several women over the range of 22 years and then went to court, him saying “Oh… but I stopped it” would not stop him from going to jail. No matter the time, Kony still commited the crimes and for that should be punished.
2. Oh! How awful! They’re trying to brainwash us to… care… oh… see, i would give a shit about this “argument” if it was valid but it’s just another excuse for scared, rich people to not put their two cents in.
3. He’s dissapeared because we’re trying to find him, but that doesn’t mean he’s dead. If he is, fantastic! We can help other victims of human rights abuse. Because it didn’t start and it won’t stop with Kony 2012.
Go on, say what you want, but at the end of the day, your going to look like the idiot who didn’t help, just like the UK at the start of WW2.
